When Do You Need a Tooth Extraction?

When you need a tooth extraction Oshawa it is not the pain in the dentist chair that you need to worry about.

After extraction pain relief

When you get home from the dentist and the numbing agent begins to wear off is when you will need some pain relief.

You should start taking over the counter pain relievers before the numbing agent wears completely off so that you already have pain relief going on especially the first 24 to 48 hours.

• Tylenol or ibuprofen (if you are on blood thinners do not take ibuprofen without consulting your doctor) if the recommended dose is not enough, speak to your dentist he or she may suggest taking 3 at a time instead of two or they may prescribe you a prescription strength NSAID
• Ice packs on the area of the extraction will help reduce inflammation
• Numbing agents such as Anbesol or Orajel
