Braces can give you the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. They can correct problems such as misaligned teeth, overcrowding and an improper bite. After you get braces, you will need to come to our clinic for regular checkups to ensure the treatment plan is on track and to adjust the braces so that they continue to move your teeth into the correct alignment.
For adults and teens who feel self-conscious about braces, Invisalign may be a good option. The treatment uses clear plastic aligners that are virtually invisible to gradually shift your teeth into the right position. Invisalign is effective for many of the same orthodontic issues that can be treated by traditional braces.
If you are missing a tooth or need a tooth extraction, you may need a dental implant to fill the gap left by the missing tooth. A dental implant is a titanium pole inserted into your jawbone. It acts as a root for an artificial tooth, providing you with the necessary structure to eat and speak normally. The tooth implant also stimulates your jawbone, preventing jaw weakness that can lead to further tooth loss. The artificial tooth attached to the implant is a crown that looks just like a natural tooth.
Sometimes, the jawbone is too weak for a dental implant. In these cases, you may need to have a bone graft to strengthen your jaw before you can get an implant. Bone graft surgery occurs before your first implant surgery.
If you are not a candidate for a dental implant, you can receive dentures instead. Dentures fill the gap left by one or multiple teeth. There are multiple types of dentures available, falling into the categories of complete, partial, and flexible. We will discuss options with you to help you make an informed decision.
